Muhammad Saleem

Hi, I’m Saleem and I have completed my second year at Imperial College London, achieving a 1st class honours in Materials with Nuclear Engineering. Gaining admission to a university ranked top 10 in the world for science and engineering required resilience and a strong work ethic, and these are both traits I instill in my students.

I have over 50 hours of private tuition experience as well as classroom teaching experience at Bury Grammar School and Fulham College Boys School. I developed different teaching methods to meet my students’ needs and demands by introducing technological teaching aid to supplement my tutoring style. My tutoring style revolves around the most effective scientifically proven learning strategies and teaching with enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is essential in helping a student actively engage with and understand the material.

My strength lies in chemistry, maths, and physics. I excelled in Chemistry achieving the highest mark in the college. I am familiar with the reformed Chemistry and Physics A-levels and know how to approach the new syllabuses. I sat my GCSEs and A-Levels within the last 4 years. Having been in a similar position to my students not too long ago, I can relate to the stress and issues the student is facing. Crucially, I will be able to give advice on how to tackle academic difficulties, drawing from my own experiences.

Experience: For the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme, I tutored GCSE level maths and science. I strategized and devised different teaching methods to meet the student’s needs and demands. My tutoring led to the student exceeding expectations and passing all his maths and science GCSEs.

I have worked as an after-school club assistant at Bury Grammar School, where I supervised a group of twenty children, guided them through homework. I enjoyed explaining topics to the younger students often using examples from outside the curriculum to ensure they were stretched and challenged- leading to a greater appreciation of the subject.
