My aim is to engage students with literature and help them understand clearly how to make progress and fulfill their potential.

Experience: Students can sometimes find it difficult to know exactly how to make progress in English. My teaching focuses explicitly on skills, so that students become more conscious of the processes that are required when reading and analysing, and writing texts. By breaking skills down into manageable chunks, I help my students to feel more confident about what it is they are being asked to do in a task/exam, and how to improve the quality of their responses.

With my experience as an examiner, I am able to highlight how students` work builds towards the end exam and ensure my students understand how to meet the requirements of the assessment.

I have a genuine love of literature, developed through my degree at Oxford University, and hope to share this with students and help them personally engage with the studied texts.
