My name is Anís - I`m a PhD student and Clarendon Scholar at Oxford University. I`m half English, half Persian, and grew up in Maidenhead (Berkshire). I`m very friendly, patient and easy to talk to. In my spare time I enjoy skiing, surfing, squash and cricket.
After volunteering as a mentor for students at a comprehensive school in Manchester, I became passionate about teaching science.
Availability: Weekday evenings after 6pm and weekends anytime (please enquire for more information)
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: I`m a current PhD student studying Molecular and Cellular Medicine at Oxford University, focussing on developing a new drug for breast cancer.
Before that I was ranked joint 1st in my year group for a Masters of Science degree in Immunology, also at Oxford.
Before this I gained a high first class honours degree in Biochemistry from Manchester University, and additionally have two years research experience in the pharmaceutical industry - mostly in cancer research.
I also have considerable experience working with students, after mentoring GCSE level students for 18 months at a comprehensive school in Manchester, for which I won the Manchester Leadership Award Gold Prize.
