Information about Nikhil

For a number of years I have worked with a variety of groups and other artists from different medium backgrounds to access intuitive processes and experiences. My own journey through each painting, sculpture or theatre performance has been like a shedding of restrictions that allows access to more subtle sources of inspiration. Supporting other artists to find that inspiration through the development of their creative processes is an important part of my life. I am passionate about the potential of learning and healing through the arts, and supporting various stages of self-discovery through reflective artistic discipline.

I have worked with galleries in Reykjavik and London on many of my own shows and feel competent in the handling, organising and displaying of art. I am also very interested in talking about art and selling it.

In the past 7 years I have had 18 exhibitions in 3 countries and complete 12 collections of paintings, each concluding stages of personal development. This intensive journey of self-discovery through creative reflection is at the core of my connection with other artists. As a mentor and an understanding friend I am constantly uplifted by conversations about the potential of the creative process.

I have recently returned to the UK after five years in Iceland. While I was there, in the past two years, I established a theatre company called FREEDOM MACHINE with four other artists. Its intention is to access levels of inner-freedom through playful improvisation and clowning. The experiences I have had as part of this group have changed the way I approach my own work, moving with the paint beyond thought and in harmony with the unfolding personality of the canvas. ie..Having fun!
