I have a PhD and masters in Materials Science/Chemistry, as well as a masters in Nanotechnology/Electrical Engineering and an undergraduate masters in Physics. I can also speak Japanese and have basic coding and business understanding along with experience working for several science and instrumentation based companies

My philosophy in life is to never stop learning and always to aim higher, by working smart but honestly, and learning how to adapt on the spot. This also translates into my teaching. Every student has the capability of aiming higher - it`s just a question of finding a method that works and not being afraid to try something different.

Experience: 4+ years of scientific industry experience having worked with various scientific instruments - XPS, AFM, XAS, XRF, SEM, TEM, Light detectors, Magnetic and Temperature sensors and controllers, Nano and Micro CT, In-situ, MEMS technology etc... for companies like Thermo Fisher Scientific, Quantum Design and Park Systems as well as with suppliers.

2 years tutoring experience with Ivy Tutors, 1 full year and thereafter sporadically with Tutorhunt.

1 year mentoring experience with Exscitec (helped organise and mentor students throughout various locations in London)

5 years of undergraduate organic and inorganic Chemistry laboratory teaching experience.

4 years voluntary A-level and GCSE open days, summer school and outreach event experience at UCL

2 years of voluntary online and face-to-face English teaching to non-English speakers ranging from 18 - 50 years of age. Topics covered include: general conversations, interview preparation in English, English for "professionals" and others for both beginners and advanced speakers.

6 years experience at giving presentations in public through Powerpoint and Prezi

5 years experience at report writing through use of LaTeX/LyX

2 years computational experience with C++ and MATLAB
