Hi all, my name is Tom and I`m a part-time tutor and Professional Accountant. I am ACA qualified and obtained a BSc in Economics from the University of Southampton in 2014. These followed top grades across all GCSE and A Level examinations from Watford Grammar School for Boys. I`m an exam enthusiast who has always enjoyed the Economics, Maths and Accounting arenas, and I`m looking forward to helping others succeed in all three subjects!
Availability: Weekdays (evenings) and Weekends
Willing to travel: 4 miles
Experience: I began tutoring 13 years ago where I catered to GCSE students taking core Maths, English and Science exams. Since then, I have devoted all of my efforts towards GCSE Maths, A Level Economics and Professional Accountancy examinations.
I`m a friendly and motivating tutor that strives to provide proactive and enjoyable lessons. Whether its over a series of sessions or even over the school year (if we`re lucky), I want my students to properly engage with their subject in a way that gets the most of out their potential!
Practically, I tailor my approach to every student`s individual needs. After an initial consultation with tutees and/or parents, I aim to build a robust profile of the student`s strengths and weaknesses in a particular subject. I use this profile to develop a personalised revision programme that uses specific learning techniques in order to get the best out of our sessions.

Where do you start with Tom, he tutors my daughter for a-level accounting, he`s just fab, attentive, he listens, he explains, he teaches sometimes when she doesn`t realise she is being taught. he has brought her up two grades in 3 mths. I would highly recommend him as for my daughter he has turned something that was just awful for her into something she now finds enjoyable.

My daughter has had a number of sessions with Tom to help with GCSE Maths. Tom comes well prepared to sessions with appropriate work and sets realistc homework which he always checks. He is very good at explaining topics and working through examples whilst giving lots of encouragement. He is an enthusiastic and friendly teacher and she is finding the sessions really beneficial.
