Information about John
I have a BSc Mathematics degree and a PGCE in Mathematics. I teach at A-Level and GCSE maths at a sixth form college in Manchester.
Availability: Available Mon-Thurs weeknights (post 16:30)
Willing to travel: 8 miles
Experience: I have been teaching for 6years, 5 of which have been at a sixth form college where I have gained experience delivering the GCSE programme and A-Level maths. I have tutored many students over the years, with varying ability, getting them through the GCSE exam and securing high grades. I have also tutored A-Level Maths students and KS3 students. I am also an examiner for the Edexcel exam board. As a result of this I am very familiar with mark schemes and know what is expected when it comes to answering a question.

John tutored my son for A’Level Maths in 2021/22. My son had just achieved a D in his lower 6th exams. Fast forward 12 months and my son is now at his first choice Uni, having secured a B. John played a huge part in that transformation, with his patient and supportive tutoring. He also really help with guiding and directing my son’s revision as we approached the exams. I highly recommend him as a tutor. Really pleased we found him. He’s now tutoring my 16 year old for GCSE Maths, and I’m sure he’ll be a massive help.

Helpful, good communication, seems to know his maths (not that I`m qualified to make that judgement). Imagine we`ll be asking John to carry on tutoring our daughter for some time.
