Mathematics is my passion, and my aim - besides of course helping students achieve the best possible grades - is to share my passion and enthusiasm for my subject with my students. Besides helping them secure the results they need for either sixth form college or university, I will show them just how enjoyable, powerful and beautiful Mathematics can be.

Experience: I have been a Maths teacher for over ten years, have taught in Merseyside and Greater Manchester, and have taught students of all abilities and all ages from 11 to 18. I have been head of A-level Maths (Key Stage 5 Coordinator) at my last two schools, holding that position for a total of nine years. This latter role often involved coaching other teachers on how to teach A-level.

I have taught both A-level Maths and Further Maths for all of my teaching career. In normal Maths, I have taught all of the Pure, Stats and Mechanics content. In Further Maths, I have taught all of the Core, Further Stats and Further Mechanics content. In addition, I have several years` experience working as an examiner for both A-level Maths and Further Maths.

Besides teaching school-sized classes, I have a number of years` experience tutoring one-on-one, and know how to get the best from my students in that very different setting. Besides the GCE A-level content, I have taught and tutored both Oxford MAT and Cambridge STEP.

Through my many years teaching, tutoring and examining, I have developed a detailed knowledge of students` common misconceptions and - more importantly - how to avoid them. I know exactly what the examiners are looking for, and how to achieve maximum possible marks.
