I specialise in GCSE English Language and Literature, working privately and in schools to provide tuition one-to-one or in small groups.
I focus particularly on Years 10 and 11, helping students with content, skills and exam technique.
I also tutor for English Literature at A Level.
Availability: Weekdays, evenings after 4pm.

Experience: I hold a teaching qualification (PGCE) and a DBS clearance.
I have recently worked with pre-GCSE students via teaching agencies in their homes and also with small groups in their school.
I focus on confidence and skills-building and coach students in how to approach their exams to best effect.

We wanted to improve our boy`s grade a little and searched for someone who could help with his writing. After the first lesson he said "it has been great help" and we could see that he is enjoying it as he seems to be getting alot of inspiration.

Steve was lovely. Unfortunately my son started with him 3 weeks before the coronavirus lockdown and his GCSEs were cancelled so I cannot say anything about results. But I can say Steve was easy to contact, responsive, proactive and when things started changing, helpful and able to offer alternatives such as on-line teaching. He provided useful structure in the lessons and homework to help my son develop confidence and skills. I would be happy to recommend him.
