Information about Harry

I am a professional theatre director and performer, with a wealth of experience in actor development and working with young people in the theatre.

I am also an experienced teacher of languages, including English and French. I have worked as an au-pair, taught lessons in both languages and even created theatre-work with students in both languages.

I have a degree in Drama from the University of Exeter, where my studies took particular interest in theatrical history and different approaches to actor training. I then went on to train at the renowned L`École Internationale de Théatre Jacques Lecoq, in Paris.

Availability: I am currently unable to work in schools and theatres due to the lockdown, and I am moving my lessons online to continue working with students in Drama, Acting or Languages.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I have worked for various youth theatre companies as a director and workshop facilitator so have a good understanding of the curriculum and how to approach drama with young people.

With my own theatre companies, I have worked both exclusively with teenagers and with schools as part of a workshop programme, delivering theatre workshops to compliment the curriculum and introduce new aspects of theatre-making.

Due to my experience as a director, I have also been able to consult many actors with audition pieces, monologues and small scenes. I pride myself on being able to give constructive, concise feedback and can offer, in the long term, effective actor training.

Aside from my theatrical work, I have also experience in teaching languages. My part-time work in Paris, teaching children English, has given me a great understanding about language acquisition - which I have applied to my own language studies. I enjoy regularly participating in language exchanges and sharing cultural aspects such as songs, ideas and even cuisine with people as an aid to learning a language.
