My name is Hannah and I trained professionally as an actor, however due to personal circumstances now work in Performing Arts both as an administrator and tutor. I work in a school and lead projects, direct shows and run clubs for the students.
I am a friendly and patient tutor with a vast range of skills. I love learning and enjoy helping students to realise their potential. My passions lie in the arts and literature and I especially enjoy discussing and analysing Shakespeare texts with students.
Acting - I am able to provide insight, direction and extra support to help prepare students for auditions, either for drama school or professional productions. I can also assist with other parts of auditions such as singing, musicality and movement. I have extensive knowledge of UK drama schools and will be happy to help guide students towards courses that will be a good fit.
My teaching style focuses mainly on practical application and exercises, but also bring theory into sessions when useful.
If students are not looking to prepare for a specific audition or role, I can provide general acting lessons with a varied curriculum. I like to work closely with my students to provide training which develops their individual skills.
Singing - My main speciality is in musical theatre, and helping to develop my student’s natural voices. My lessons will focus on ensuring that the singing voice is using the correct vocal support systems and technique to create a clear, safe and rich sound. Again, I can provide lessons either to prepare for a specific audition/role or for general development.
English - I have always been an avid reader and encourage students to read for fun outside of lessons as this is the best way to develop a more complex vocabulary at all levels. I adapt my approach to each student I teach and help them to develop self-confidence in the subject. I like to set small practical tasks throughout the session to help build up understanding and retain a good level of focus.
