My style focuses on the learning for the students. I try to build relationships and trust that offer my students reassurance that they are capable of achieving beyond what they believe. I concentrate on increasing their depth of understanding and application of knowledge using analysis of data and the equations that can be used to manipulate that information allowing access to the highest grades. I have a background in engineering which helps me to easily make the content relevant to my students whilst developing and improving exam technique. I have a current full DBS certificate as part of my current role teaching in a school.

Experience: I have been a science teacher for 26 years with my main specialism being physics. I have taught physics, chemistry and biology to KS3, chemistry and physics to KS4 and physics and mechanics to A Level. I currently tutor students in GCSE physics, maths and chemistry and A Level physics and the mechanics parts of A Level maths. I am the lead practitioner in the science department at my school, regularly running CPD activities designed to develop different pedagogical approaches to teaching which enhance and embed the learning for students. My students have consistently achieved some of the best value added results in the Academy Trust at both A Level and GCSE.
