Information about Amarjeet
I am an outstanding primary Mathematics and English teacher with thirty years of teaching experience, I have just retired from my teaching post and am solely concentrating on tutoring.
As a maths specialist teacher, I have helped accelerate the progress of many low attaining pupils from year 3 to year 6 since 1990. I am also coaching high attaining pupils for Greater Depth challenge and support them in filling the gaps in their fluency, reasoning And problem solving. I have a proven track record of children making speedy progress to achieve their full potential and gain confidence in their own ability. Having 1:1 coaching helps to lay a solid foundation- a vital element to succeed in the secondary school education and beyond. In English I specialise in phonics, teaching fluency and comprehension, grammar and writing (different genre such as fiction, non fiction), writing for different purposes formal and informal including writing for different audience .
During my teaching career, I have attended a multitude of lead courses and conferences, organised by well renowned academic researchers. Being a marker for year 6 SATs has given me an insight into children`s misconceptions and how to support them to understand and self correct.Over the last 10 years, as Maths specialist teacher - my role was also to coach young teachers, Learning support assistants and other colleagues who needed help with planning and teaching of maths.
Please note, currently I am only doing online tutoring (5-11 years).

Experience: I have been tutoring and mentoring children from age 5-11 for several years with proven results. With my extensive teaching experience, I have the ability to assess and teach children with diverse needs and provide targeted support to them to succeed in their key stage 1 and 2 SATs. I have also been a KS2 SATS marker (AQA) for 3 years, therefore I have in depth knowledge to prepare children working at different levels for their SATS examinations.
I have a good grasp of National Curriculum. My teaching strategies include breaking complex problems into small, easy to follow steps. I am well trained in asking the questions which help them to think critically and apply their previously learnt skills.
Specialist in raising key stage whole school SATs results. If your child is going to take ks1 or key stage 2 results and you have their year 5 or year 1 report which tells you that they have gaps- this is the time to work on these otherwise children get too stressed and loose interest in learning.
I am friendly and adopt my teaching approaches so that children feel confident and put their full effort into learning. Hence, they get a sense of achievement.
I use assessment strategies effectively to ensure all pupils are making excellent progress in their learning.

After classroom tutoring approach left us underwhelmed, we turned to private tutoring and contacted Ms. Amarjeet. We have had 4 sessions so far and our daughter looks forward to these sessions every weekend. It is still early days but she is enjoying Maths lessons and gaining more confidence already. We are hopeful that due to Ms. Amarjeet `s techniques, we will see tangible improvements in our daughter`s Maths knowledge.

Mrs Puji has been tutoring my son this half term and in only a few sessions my son has made good progress at school, improving so much so that he has gone from developing to secure in math. Mrs Puji picked up on areas of learning missed and explains in a way my son understands. My sons confidence has also grown and Mrs Puji gives feedback on work completed in the sessions.
