I am a passionate Early Years and primary school teacher. I love to teach maths and phonics.

Each child is an individual and they all learn differently. Children thrive when they feel comfortable and confident, so when teaching my aims are to make every child enjoy learning and believe in their ability. If they find something tricky I encourage them to `dig deep` and try again; we try different ways to find what works best for them.

For me as a teacher, the child is at the heart of all I do.

Experience: I have taught for over 10 years in a primary school, teaching mainly Early Years and Key Stage 1, though I do also have experience with Key Stage 2.

During my career I have been head of Early Years and phonics and also spent over 7 years as SENDCO, leading Special Educational Needs in the school. I believe strongly in individual learning plans and used these a great deal when I carried out interventions with children who needed a little extra support with their learning.

I also spent time as an assistant head.
