I am a qualified Primary School Teacher with over 20 years’ experience of teaching in both state and independent schools. I am also a mum of three school-age children and live in Cobham, Surrey.

I currently teach part-time in a local infant school, rated Outstanding by Ofsted, and am also an experienced tutor. I genuinely enjoy helping children learn and grow in confidence, and particularly love the one-to-one aspect of tutoring, where I can get to know each child and tailor my approach to them.

I have experience supporting children with dyslexia, ADHD, autism and PDA profiles and believe that children learn best when they feel comfortable, understood and encouraged. I want my lessons to be a positive experience where children can build confidence, enjoy learning and feel proud of what they achieve.

Availability: I am available on Monday-Wednesdays after school and Saturdays & Sundays as well as over the school holidays. I tend to work from my home in Cobham.

Experience: I have been tutoring children from Reception through to Year 6 since 2012, both after school and at weekends. I have experience preparing children for 7+ exams and Year 6 SATs, as well as helping children with reading, writing, maths and general consolidation of their schoolwork.

Before starting one-to-one tuition, I like to talk to parents about their child, what they would like to achieve and any particular areas they may be finding difficult. I then take time to get to know the child and find out about their interests, strengths and areas where they may need some extra support or challenge.

I tailor my lessons to each child and use a mixture of activities, games and more focused work, depending on what will work best for them. I am happy to work alongside what children are currently learning at school, or focus on particular areas where they need more practice.

I keep an open dialogue with parents and enjoy seeing children develop their knowledge, become more confident and, importantly, enjoy learning. I also hold an Enhanced DBS.
