I am a mother of three school age children and live in Cobham, Surrey. Since 2016 I have taught part-time in a local infant school in Year 1. Prior to that I taught in Year 1 and Year 2 in a boy`s prep school. I am also an experienced tutor and have worked with children from both the state and private sectors from Reception to Year 4.

Availability: I am available on Saturdays as well as over the school holidays. I tend to work from my home in Cobham.

Experience: I am a qualified Primary School Teacher with 18 years experience of teaching Year 1 and Year 2 in both private and state schools. I currently work part time in an infant school. Since 2012 I have also tutored at weekends.

I have experience of helping children to get ready for 7+ exams, as well as overall confidence boosting and general consolidation.

Initially I spend time talking with the parent about their child, their needs and what they expect to gain from the one-to-one sessions. In my first lesson, I always take the time to get to know the pupil and find out about their interests. I ensure that they are comfortable, confident and relaxed with me. Through assessing their work, learning style and general ability, I compile a tailored programme of study for them which is both flexible and easily adaptable depending on the outcome of each lesson. I use a range of teaching methods including games, activities on the computer and tailored worksheets. I ensure that there is an open dialogue with the parent at all times. I find that my pupils enjoy their lessons with me, grow in confidence and above all, develop their knowledge and understanding. We also have fun along the way!
