Information about John
I tutor students in science and maths to GCSE and A-Level. I believe any student can be motivated when they discover the joy of learning with a dedicated tutor and mentor. I build this philosophy into my tuition by developing a strong rapport with my students, such that tuition does not feel like work. After a few weeks, my students find that they look forward to our sessions - at this point, exam-success is simply a matter of repetition and practice, as the biggest hurdle has already been overcome.
I have tutored students of a wide range of abilities, including those with special educational needs and learning difficulties.
I am equally happy and comfortable to help you go from an F to an A or an A to an A*.
I studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at A-Level and obtained 3A*`s.
I recently graduated from University College London (UCL) with a First Class MSci Natural Sciences degree and I am planning on starting a PhD in Nanotechnology in October 2016. I have completed several internships/placements in scientific institutions in the Oxfordshire area and am happy to advise on work experience opportunities for any of my students who are interested in taking their studies in science or mathematics to university level.
Recent reviews (Aug 2015):
These students were previously getting F`s in GCSE Maths and each had 10 1-hour sessions with me before their exams:

"I got C! Pleasure working with you. Couldn`t have done it without you" - Maytham, 16, GCSE Maths.
