Information about Ruth
I am a well qualified, experienced teacher and have been in teaching for over 20 years, in both the state and independent sector. I have been Head of Department and a Head of Sixth Form, and currently am Head of EPQ and Universities & Careers in a high achieving school.
I have taught GCSE Religious Studies (Edexcel and AQA), A-Level Philosophy (AQA), A-Level Religious Studies (Edexcel, OCR, WJEC and AQA) and IB Philosophy (HL and SL). I am a senior examiner for IB Philosophy, Theory of Knowledge and run teacher training workshops for Philosophy. I am also an AQA EPQ moderator. I can tutor to any GCSE/A-level/IB exam for religious studies, philosophy or theory of knowledge, and can guide students through the EPQ process. I can also help with humanities tutoring for KS3 and school entrance exams.
I am also able to provide support and guidance through the university admissions process, both in the UK and Internationally - including USA applications. This can involve advice about university choices, personal statements, CommonApp essays and application processes.
I am approachable, easy to work with and enjoy working and helping students who need additional support. I can provide friendly guidance either at my home, or yours. I believe strongly that any child can achieve to a high standard if the work is made fun and relevant to them. I pride myself on being able to help students reach their potential through patient learning and support.
Am happy to tutor in a small group as well.
I have just reopened my books for tutoring after being fully booked for the past 3 years.
