Free introductory online sessions!

My aim is to generate a strong interest and passion in reading and studying literature and non-fiction works, which in turn will help develop the skills necessary to study for and complete GCSEs in English Language and Literature, `A` level and beyond. Also, my intention is for students to become lifelong learners.

I have several years experience of being both a qualified teacher and personal. In addition, I have had careers in other fields, and this additional experience has given me an ability to understand the needs of students from a whole range of ages, backgrounds and cultures. These valuable experiences have enabled me as well to comprehend how to engage students in their subjects.

I am fully up to date with all the latest research in teaching and in pedagogical strategies, so I am therefore able to translate some of this knowledge and these skills into my teaching - and tutoring - practice.

Availability: Currently, I am available most weekday evenings and at weekends.

Willing to travel: 15 miles

Experience: I hold qualified teacher status (QTS); my subject specialisms are in English Language and Literature. Furthermore, I have a PGCE and the AET (formerly PTTLS) qualification, which enables me to teach at a Further Education level, as well as at primary and secondary. I am also a member of the Chartered College of Teaching and regularly take part in their CPD sessions.

Currently, I am working towards finishing my MA in Education.
