I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to teach biology as I continue to find it a fascinating subject. After completing my degree at the University of Edinburgh, I went on to complete a PhD at the University of Aberdeen. The focus was genetics and molecular biology. I worked for a few years in research which brought me to England where I did teacher training at the University of Warwick. I am so glad I did as I found that I loved the classroom and working with young people.

Experience: I currently teach at a local school where we cover the OCR A level specification, so I am familiar with all the recent changes. I have taught biology to A level at a number of schools over the years so have also taught AQA. I have also worked at Warwick and Birmingham University where I ran the science teacher training programmes and taught on the Masters in Education programmes.
Prior to teaching, I worked in research so have used most of the molecular techniques included on the specification.
