Hi, I`m Denushka and I`m currently studying Medicine at King`s College London. I studied at Wilson`s Grammar school and achieved all 9s at GCSE and all A*s at A level in Biology, Chemistry and Economics.

I believe that teaching is a team effort and tailor each lesson to the student`s pace.
I tutor online, teaching GCSE and A-Level Biology under the Edexcel exam board, Business Studies GCSE under OCR, Economics A-Level under Edexcel and GCSE Mathematics under Edexcel.
My approach with tutoring is to first assess my student`s ability to better tailor my teaching. Then, we will work together through topics that they are struggling with, incorporating my teaching materials with the student`s own materials in order to better contextualise the knowledge. Each lesson will have an over arching topic that we focus on together, either one that the student suggests or a topic I`ve identified through marking past paper questions.

Experience: I`ve gained teaching experience tutoring secondary school students GCSE Biology, covering topics that they struggled with and utilising a wide variety of teaching techniques, including 3D models, diagrams and quizzes. I was also chosen to be an A-Level Economics mentor - this entailed weekly 1 to 1 teaching sessions with a student covering A-level Economics topics in depth and addressing any misunderstanding my tutee had.

As the Medical Society Chair in Wilson`s Grammar school, I led numerous teaching sessions for aspiring medical students, ranging from medical topics to interview preparation. Through this I have the experience to plan and structure lessons in a way that builds a strong foundation of knowledge at the start, then progressively improves that knowledge base to allow the student to tackle harder concepts.
