I`m Mike and in June 2019 I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Master`s Degree in Engineering, specialising in Mechanical Engineering. As you can imagine, studying a subject such as this at Cambridge means that I have a very strong knowledge of Physics and Mathematical principles.

I am looking for students who would like tutoring in Maths and Physics at GCSE level and also Maths, Further Maths and Physics at A-Level. I would also consider students who would like tutoring in Biology and Chemistry at GCSE level but Maths and Physics are where my strengths lie.

My teaching style is fairly laid back, I believe it is more important to give gentle nudges in the right direction rather than delivering long sermons and lectures about particular subjects. I believe in a hands on approach to learning, I believe it is more useful to try to solve problems to reinforce learning rather than reading something 100 times. I also believe in laying solid foundations in mathematical and physical principles which can then be built on (ie getting the basics right means that it then becomes much easier to tackle harder problems).

I am happy to provide tutoring in person or also over Skype. Also happy to provide some tutoring specific for Oxbridge applications (interview practice, help with personal statement etc.)
