I am a French teacher who has worked in local Secondary schools for 10 years. I have taught both Pearson Edexcel and AQA exam specifications and examined for both exam boards. Therefore, I have an excellent understanding of students needs in the classroom and what they need to produce to achieve in GCSE examinations.

The students I teach achieve excellent results in their examinations, making fantastic progress in the skills they find most challenging. Often writing and speaking.

I have experience tutoring students at Primary and Secondary school age. For many students approaching their GCSE they have a clear understanding of their weaknesses that need to be overcome, whilst for others it is my job to find the issues which can be most easily resolved for them to make progress towards their desired grades. I take pride in building the confidence of my students and seeing them succeed. All lessons are bespoke to my students and respond to their needs.

Whilst I am not a native French speaker, I believe I understand the difficulties that often need to be overcome in order to make a success of language learning. I studied first studied French at school, Sixth Form then Aberystwyth University where I attained a degree in French and International Politics. I lived in France during this time working as an English Language Assistant and still go on holiday to the country.

I have a full and up-to-date understanding of the new GCSE specification (1-9) for both AQA and Edexcel and I would be pleased to help anyone of any age develop their skills in French. Whether that be in listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar or translation. I am undertaking professional development to deliver the new GCSE specification.
