Information about Haris
I am a 2nd year Medical Student at the University of Nottingham. At A-Level, I studied Biology, Chemistry and French. I have mentored students from my local area for 1 year, as well as volunteering at a local school helping young children to read.
From the process of achieving a scholarship at my secondary school, to being accepted into Medicine, I have a confident understanding of what examiners look for and have developed techniques to ensure their desires are met. Having benefitted from tutoring myself, I enjoy passing knowledge and skills onto students, equipping them to reach their fullest potential and take on concepts that may seem difficult to grasp at first.
My method of teaching is one of collaboration and patience, one in which I can first develop an understanding of where the student`s strengths are and where they may struggle. This allows an initial plan to be set, as well as targets, so both the student and I feel confident in the progression of their knowledge in any certain topic. Active-recall and breaking information into bite-size chunks gives the student a methodical approach to studying, without being overwhelmed, a skill set which they can apply to any subject.
I am friendly and patient and enjoy helping people to achieve their full potential. I look forward to offering my support.
Willing to travel: 2 miles
Experience: Within school I tutored younger students in Biology and Chemistry.
I mentored students within my area who were interested in the field of Medicine, helping them with the application process and advising them with extra curricular steps to enhance their application.
I have helped students with difficulty reading in increasing their fluency and confidence at my local primary school.
