I am an enthusiastic and highly experienced Senior Lecturer in Teacher Education, with an excellent career prior to this teaching GCSE and A Level English. Tutoring online is my part time job and I take great pride in working with students who are motivated to do their very best.

I began my teaching career in 2000 and my experience ranges from teaching in Adult Education to a Masters in Education and the Postgraduate Certificate in Education. This means I can teach from Level 2 right up to Level 7, working with anyone aged 14 and above.

My core values stem from my belief that education has the power to transform people’s lives, removing barriers to success, so that students achieve their goals.

I respect people who make the decision to challenge themselves to do their utmost to achieve the best grades they can. Tutoring is not a remedial service, it is designed for anyone who needs/wants 1:1 specialist support.

If you are prepared to work hard, I will ensure you are set weekly targets to structure your learning, using my considerable and varied expertise to help you enjoy your sessions with me.

I am a Doctor of Education and my thesis is titled: PEER TUTORING IN FURTHER EDUCATION: A STUDY OF THE PERCEIVED EXPERIENCES FOR A GROUP OF GCSE RESIT AND A LEVEL STUDENTS AND THEIR TEACHERS. My research has added an additional layer to the service I provide as a private tutor because I have studied both theory and practice and proven my own written skills at Doctoral level.

Availability: Tuesday and Wednesday evening.

Experience: I taught English to 16-19 year olds and adult learners from 2000-2013 and since then I have taught in Higher Education on PGCE and Masters programmes validated by The University of Huddersfield and Leeds Beckett (online).

I gained my QTLS in 2011 and Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy in 2019. My qualifications and experience mean that I have excellent academic and study skills. Any student who studies with me is in a very safe pair of hands.
