Information about Dominic
I am an experienced piano teacher and concert pianist, with a Masters degree from the Royal College of Music (Distinction), and a First Class Undergraduate degree from the same institution. I have received a number of competition prizes, including the 2020 ROSL award for Keyboard, and performed as a soloist in major venues from St John`s Smiths Square to the Leipzig Gewandhaus.
As a teacher, I make sure that I focus on technique and musicality in equal measure, as well as making sure my students adopt good habits and dispel bad ones. I have a Steinway Model A and a practice studio for it, so I welcome students to my home, although I am happy to travel, depending on the distance. I am also very happy teaching online.
I also tutor GCSE and A Level music, as well as music theory, having been awarded the theory prize at the Royal College of Music Junior Department for highest Grade 8 theory mark, and a D1 at Music A Level (Cambridge Pre-U board - equivalent of A*).
Availability: I am available on most weekday afternoons and evenings, as well as weekends.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have taught over thirty different students, from ages 3 to 60. I have helped students achieve distinctions in grade 8 piano and theory.
