I am a friendly and positive tutor, always looking for ways to improve and enhance student`s work developing matrixes and templates with the student, guided by the exam board criteria, to enable understanding of the finished product. I believe everyone is capable of achievement, it is merely a matter of finding a way to understand and develop their potential, which alongside the student`s hard work, will produce results. I am very happy to work face to face or online.
I can support English and English Literature GCSE and pre GCSE; Functional Skills; A levels, and first and second degree work.

Availability: Negotiable, but after school and evenings preferred.

Experience: I currently work for a Further Education College teaching functional skills in English and Maths to post 16 students. Prior to this I worked for 16 years as an English teacher in a local secondary school teaching English and English Literature to students from year 7 to year 11. Not only do I have an MA in Education, but I have also completed a PhD in Education; this focused on finding easier ways for students to learn. In addition, I have been a GCSE exam marker since 2015 for GCSE English Language and GCSE English Literature exams and therefore have current knowledge of the latest GCSE exam styles, formats and criteria.
