Information about Hannah
Hi!
I am Hannah, an early years teacher, with a passion for helping children reach their full potential. I believe that all children should be given the best possible start in order to make it in this ever changing world. I have been teaching for 8 years now and I have a 5-year-old of my own who is thriving at school because of the extra help and time I have put into his education. I believe in making learning a fun experience to really motivate children to actually want to learn. Learning should not be a daunting experience therefore I love trying to make things exciting for every child in my care through play based tutoring for the younger children. I have a background in journalism, I love to read, write and I`m a bit of a creative!

Experience: I have experience working with children from age 6 months to 5 years and I`m currently teaching 2-3 year old`s in a school nursery. I also have experience teaching children aged 5-7 on the weekends in a church setting. I have been teaching for 8 years and have experience working with children with SEND also.
Before I got into teaching, I studied journalism at university and gained a degree in the subject. I started working with children as a student teacher in a children`s Centre, while completing an Early Childhood Education post grad. After completing my post grad certificate and gaining Early Years Teacher status, I worked as a teaching assistant in a primary school with 3-4 year olds for a year, then went on to being the class teacher for 2-3 year olds. I had a 2 year break from working in primary school and went on to work in a private nursery with 2-5 year olds. After gaining experience in a different kind of setting, I went back to my class of 2-3 year olds in the primary school which is where I am at now.
I have experience teaching phonics, early maths, science and early reading and writing. I use the development matters to track children`s progress in the early years and for younger children, I try to focus more on play based teaching and learning.
