I am an experienced, qualified teacher and since retiring fifteen years ago have worked as a private tutor for English, from age 10+ and 11+ entrance, GCSE and some university level literature and creative writing. I have enjoyed a successful fifteen years and my students have earned good grades.
Over the past few years, after completing an MA in creative writing, I have branched out into teaching creative writing. I have contributed to two books published by the groups I belong to; these are self published. I have recently signed up for a dyslexia course and intend to further my knowledge about the problems caused by dyslexia.

Availability: I am available most days and evenings of the week and Saturday mornings. I take holidays in June and September. I can make up for this during the February half term break and other school holidays. This has worked well with other students.

Experience: I taught in primary schools for several years until I changed to teaching English as a second language in primary and secondary schools. I have taught English in further education and gave English support to overseas students at Herts university, where I also taught study skills. My time as a private tutor has been very successful. Students recommend me to others and gain good grades at GCSE and A level. I am now teaching creative writing at beginner and intermediate level and following a dyslexia course.
