I am a specialist teacher in English Language and Literature with 24 years of experience in teaching students aged 11-18 across keys stages 3 ,4 and 5. I have expertise in teaching A levels in English Language and English Literature and English GCSE /IGCSE. I am familiar with all exam board requirements.
I also offer speaking and listening sessions for non-native speakers.
I can guide and teach at Degree level in English and am experienced in supervising English degree projects.
I have run English departments rated by OFSTED as Good and Outstanding and have a current teaching post in a post-16 college.
I am approachable, positive, empathetic, organised and reliable and I enjoy coaching students to believe in and help them achieve their potential and future aspirations. I have been tutoring for 7 years and my last 6 students achieved brilliantly, showing considerable progress.

Availability: Weekends and some weeknights from 6-8 and school/college holidays.
I also offer courses of 5 or ten lessons for those students who have a short term goal to achieve.

Experience: I have a BA Homs in English Language and Literature from Cardiff university and. PGCE in English / Drama from the University of Cambridge. I have 24 years` teaching experience in 11-18 schools and 6th form colleges.

A Level English Language, English Literature and joint Language-Literature: Film Studies, Communication and Culture.
Spoken English for second language speakers.

I have performed Head of Department and Faculty Headship roles throughout much of my career.
