I am Rebecca, 30 years old and I am providing private tuition in Science (GCSE), Maths (GCSE) and Chemistry (A-Level).

I have a 1st Class Honours Masters degree in Chemistry from the University of Leicester and have A-Levels in Maths, Chemistry and Biology. I am also Enhanced DBS Checked which is very important for any parent/guardian to check when looking for private tuition for children.

Availability: I am available both weekdays and weekends - whatever is most convenient for you.

Experience: Even though I had excellent results from School, College and University, I struggled and spent a lot of time trying to understand the information and, because of this initial struggle, I find that I am very good at teaching the information.

I help students grasp the key concepts, breaking down the complicated into easier chunks of information and looking for that "a-ha" moment from the student, building confidence. I explain the information which should be understood and applied so that it is easier to recall in the exam. Also some of the material needs to just be learnt and for this I ensure the student is constantly embedding the information so that there is no panic swotting near the exam.

I look to have an initial session with the student (and parent/guardian) to understand if there are any key areas the student is struggling with or if there is a specific style/approach wanted from the private tutoring sessions. I then develop a plan for the future sessions to ensure that we are covering everything necessary and development is improving, monitoring this as we continue.
