Information about Kate
My name is Kate. I am a fourth year medical student at Cambridge University.
I have always been organised and hard working. I achieved 4 A*s at A-level in Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Latin, and I also did an AS level in Further Maths. I also did an EPQ during 6th form (also achieved A*), which I wrote about Three-parent IVF. I achieved 9A*s at GCSE in Triple science, English language, English literature, Maths, History, French, Latin and an A in art.
I am looking to tutor Biology up to A-level standard and Chemistry, Maths and Physics up to GCSE standard.
I`m also happy to help aspiring medical students with their application process;; going over personal statements, work experience, entrance exams and interview preparation.
Availability: I am based in Cambridge for the majority of the year.
I am mostly available weekday evenings and Saturdays and Sundays.
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: During sixth form, I tutored students in the years below me through GCSEs.
I also have a younger sister who I tutored through her GCSEs, in which she achieved all A*s (or equivalent). In particular, I helped her with Maths. She was predicted 6-7, however she ended up getting 1 mark off a 9.
I also have experience babysitting, during which I would help the children with their homework.
Furthermore, during medical school, there is a big emphasis put on teaching. Through this I`ve acquired further skills for teaching colleagues and students in the years below me.
My approach for tutoring is to find out the examination board a student is on. I`ll identify the current level of attainment that the student has and what their desired level is. I`ll start by focussing on areas that the students highlight as being problem areas before I then continue onto the rest of the topics. I`ll aim to keep the student on top if not ahead of the curriculum to help them build confidence and utilise their lessons at school to the greatest potential.
