Experience: After completing my A-levels at Joseph Chamberlain College, I went onto receiving: a First-Class Honors in Mathematics at Aston University and then successfully completed my PGCE in Secondary Mathematics. With experience in both state and independent schools and working with learners from a multitude of backgrounds, you can rest assured that your child is in the best possible hands.

Gone are the old-style assessments with their forgiving modules, repeat exams and coursework. In their place are Michael Gove’s super-tough, “gold-standard”, highly academic qualifications. The content of the revised examinations is now being pitched at a more sophisticated level, “By making GCSEs more demanding, more fulfilling, and more stretching...”

Today’s learners are required to demonstrate their ability to interpret and analyse problems and generate strategies to solve them however we find in schools that the same generic approach is being taken and they are faced with unstructured problems without easy lead-in steps, many students do not know how to begin to find solutions.

As a believer of mathematical rigour and in establishing a solid mathematical argument. With the recent changes making an emphasis on mathematical reasoning, along with problem solving and mathematical fluency, I believe there is a need for students to showcase correct mathematical language and a consistent layout of students work. With my academic and teaching background, I can safely say that I am a suitable math tutor for any learner.
