Information about Sol

I am a 19 year old studying Economics at Durham University. I love my subject and closely related fields (such as maths and history), sport and socialising.

I would say I am a energetic person who loves to challenge those around me. I always have things to say but love to listen to people`s opinion. Most importantly seeing people develop and learn is something that I take great pride in - I used to run maths classes in my primary school to teach a children with learning difficulties.

I love economics because it explains everything around us. From why someone is rich to the reasons for a chocolate bar being 4x8. Following on from that, economics allows people who study it to be more knowledgeable about current affairs and make more precise + reasoned arguments. This suits me as a person. I like to debate, challenge and discuss possible flaws in any argument.

I also think using the right revision techniques and with good preparation there is no reason why you shouldn`t be jumping up grade boundaries. I have methods that worked for me but would be keen to discuss other methods - maybe you might teach me a thing or two!

Availability: I work from a Timezone which is +7 UK time which makes after school on weekdays perfect and also weekend mornings-early afternoon

Willing to travel: 15 miles

Experience: I have tutored many students whilst in school and at university. All have been positive and more importantly I have become a far better tutor from it. My experience comes from a subject that I love studying and teaching which means I deliver passionate and fun lessons.

Sol was here to help our children aged 11 and 8 years with a recap of maths before they return to school in September. He was polite and professional and our children found him easy to work with. He was well prepared and has a positive and encouraging style of teaching. I would have no hesitation in recommending him and I’m only sorry we did not find him sooner!

Sol is tutoring with my son with maths (a level). Having completed his A level a couple of years ago was a great help. He built up a good rapport with my son and really made him think about areas to concentrate on. He was very well prepared.
