I am a highly experience teacher of English Language and Literature, working successfully with all ages and abilities. I have a first class honours degree in English Literature and European History. I have a L.R.A.M in piano and violin. Success in teaching in secondary school and private tutoring means that I have boosted students attainment by at least 2 grades above target grade predictions. I worked for 18 years as Assistant SENCO, supporting students with complex learning needs. I have also tutored students for the Advanced Extension in English Literature and this has supported success in attaining places at both Oxford and Cambridge Universities and St Andrews.
Availability: Monday to Thursday evenings, 4pm onwards.

Experience: 27 years experience of teaching English at Key Stage 3. 4 and 5. Experience of teaching GCSE English Language, GCSE English Literature, A level English Literature and A level English Language and Literature. Senior examiner with a leading examination board for 25 years. I manage a team of examiners for GCSE English Language and I mark GCSE English Literature. I also take part in the grade review, marking school requests for re-marks. I additionally write items for English Literature, writing questions and mark schemes, and have been doing this since 2009. I also mark International Baccalaureate English Language and Literate and moderate coursework essays. I ran my own tutoring business on the Wirral for 22 years, up until July 2018. This was on a part time basis, whilst teaching full time in secondary school.
