Hello Flutist!! How are you doing during these pandemic times? Hope you well and safe!!
I am teacher . Welcome to my Teacheron profile!
[contact detail removed]

In this space, I`d like share with you how I work with my students and help them grow as Musicians and Flutists. Firstly, on my methodology there are 2 main aspects in Music:

Musicality and Instrumental Technique.

Both intermix and coexist in a single dimension, but in terms of studying and progressing, separating them is essential to accelerate and solidify Music learning.
Musicality encompasses aspects such as musical phrases, vibrato, dynamics, style (classical, pop, etc), musical theory, harmony, and so on.
In Flute Technique we have posture, embouchure, fingering, breathing, articulation, and many more.

To work on these aspects with my students I use several Flute Methods, from the most traditional (all free on IMSLP) to the most modern ones (in English), as well as innumerous exercises that I have specifically developed for Flute technical improvements from years of experience as a Flutist, Student and Teacher.

I confess that there is nothing in the world, besides from being with my wife and daughter, that I love more than playing and teaching my students about Music and the Flute. I assure you that I am extremely patient and really care that you achieve your goals. Motivation is the key and I guarantee you that you’ll leave motivated after each lesson.

I always start my lessons with a warm-up that includes stretching, long notes and a specific work especially prescribed for that moment of the student`s development.
Then, we work on the method specifically chosen for the student`s difficulties. And for the final part of the lesson we work on a musical piece that is based on the student`s taste and his/her technical and musical abilities. My lessons last for one hour and I offer the first one completely free for you to get to know me, with absolutely no commitment, it will be a pleasure to me.

Now, let me tell you a little about myself:

I`m a 40 years-old British and Brazilian citizen and have played the Flute since I was 12.

My career as a teacher began very early in my life at the age of 17 at my father`s Music School ";Music is Life"; in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. Later, I continue to teach when I moved to the UK, specially after I graduated, this time privately.
Today, I am also Solo Piccolo at the Taubate Symphonic Band and Principal Flute at the Vale Philharmonic Orchestra. Recently I have also been awarded for best soundtrack for the movie Duda with my composition Loneliness for Solo Flute, besides the Solo Award and Duet Award I won during University.

São Paulo in Brazil is my hometown at the moment but I confess that Brighton in England is where my heart lives. We talk often about going back. I live here with my wife Karol and my 6 year old daughter Maria Flor! I consider myself a very happy and fulfilled person.
Having said that, we all have desires or difficult moments we go through. At these moments, to have something as special as music as a hobby or way of living can be very fulfilling and therapeutic. But alone usually we cannot go very far, so this when we look for a master that will guide us with compassion, dedication and above all enthusiasm.
One of the greatest flute teachers of all time, the Englishman Trevor Wye, said in his book ";Proper Flute Playing";: “the greatest quality a teacher can have is enthusiasm and passion for teaching.”

Well, that`s pretty much me! Passionate and enthusiastic to play and teach the art of Music and the Flute, the oldest and most mystical instrument in the history of mankind!
I really hope that this short text has left you with an impression of whom I am and what Music (always with the Capital M) means to me. And that it motivates you on following this journey in your life even if it is with another teacher.

If you choose me, the first lesson I do not charge. It will be a very constructive chat about your history and, of course, some good playing to discover new musical possibilities to you.

Thank you very much for your time! I do not take it for granted!
