I have a BA (Hons) in Classics from Durham University, and have taught in independent prep schools in the UK for the last 23 years. I have a PGCE in Secondary Education, and am currently Head of Classics at a prep school in Perthshire, Scotland.

Availability: Currently available to tutor online, or in person locally in the school holidays, or outside of normal school hours.

Experience: As well as being a Head of Classics, I have also previously been a Head of History, and taught English, RE and French.
I have tutored throughout my career, and love teaching students on a one-to-one basis, patiently helping them to understand concepts they may find difficult, and unpicking blocks that can occur in a classroom setting.
I have tutored children everywhere from the Caribbean to Scotland, and most recently via Zoom. I am able to quickly assess the level your child has reached, and rapidly identify which areas require work, enabling me to maximize actual teaching time during the sessions.
