Jack

Hi, I`m Jack. I have over 2000 hours of tutoring experience and have a 1st Class Mathematics degree from Durham University. I am extremely patient and empathetic, and bring my expertise as a qualified coach into the tutoring space in order to empower the student to own their own learning journey.

I don`t agree with the stereotype that maths needs to be boring and impossible for some students! By using lots of examples, alternative ways of looking at things, and working through sample exam papers, I give my students the opportunity to learn by doing, instead of just being told how to do something. I have extensive experience providing maths tutoring online and have helped students gain confidence and improve their exam results.

In addition to private tutoring, I worked as a Study Skills Tutor at York St John University, helping students develop the academic skills needed to succeed at university. I can also bring this expertise into the tutoring sessions if this is something you are interested in.

Outside of work, I love travelling and hiking, and I am designing a football transfers strategy board game. I am also a qualified Life Coach having trained with the Animas coaching school.

Availability: I am available after school hours for online sessions.
