Information about Jonathan
I am a final year PhD student in physics at Durham University specialising in theoretical particle physics. I have a masters degree with distinction in applied mathematics from The University of Cambridge, and a first class honours 4-year combined undergraduate+masters degree in theoretical physics from Durham University.
I have won 8 academic awards from both Durham University and The University of Cambridge, including being top of my undergraduate class. I believe with my knowledge, enthusiasm and experience I will help you achieve your goals
My teaching method is to allow students to lead by targeting areas that they find problematic. We can then break down exactly why it is they find something difficult and start by building a strong foundation of knowledge to address the problem. I believe an approach based around practising problems is by far the most effective for learning physics and mathematics and a strong emphasis will be placed on this.
Availability: Weekday evenings, weekends.
Willing to travel: 2 miles
Experience: I have been a tutor to undergraduate students for the past three years. I have experience in working in small groups and one-on-one with students.
