I have over four years of teaching experience and I am currently teaching for Stoke on Trent college and JB skills. I deliver GCSEs and Functuional Skills maths. I teach various group age range 16-18,19-24 traineeships and19 plus mature adults. At JB skills I teach Functional Skills Maths and English and these are mature adults who are learning to improve how to speak English. I recently taught at Manchester College the justice sector. With this Job I was OFSTED RATED GRADE ONE AMONGST THE GROUP. The OFSTED inspector said I have got the best skills of teaching that they haven`t seen. He enjoyed how I planned my sessions well, how I engaged all the learners and how they all understood the subject and thus put it in to practice. I taught Functional skills Maths at Werrington prison working with the Young offenders 15-18 years. It`s a very challenging and rewarding job. I have passion of wanting to make difference and with this job I have turned around the young offenders lives and they have improved their mathematical skills and literacy
I also spent most of my time mentoring adults and children 1-1 sessions in Maths,English,Science and Biology,Adult literacy and numeracy skills, A1&A2 exams and Life in the UK. I`m very passionate about my job. It`s not about getting paid but helping learners to reach their goals and achieve their dreams. Education is a key to success without that little extra help learners would not be able to get exactly what they need in life.

It`s not just teaching you need but managing behaviours and support. A lot of them they have very bad family backgrounds and I acted as a sister, friend and parent. I love this job because I`m helping them to realise that there`s more to life than the crime they have committed, they can get very good qualifications whilst serving their sentences.
