I am a mum of two and recently left my role as an English Lead Practitioner and Whole School Literacy coordinator in a secondary school so that I could go self-employed and spend more time with my young children. I`ve been teaching for 8 years (having qualified through the Teach First programme) and before I was a teacher, I was a youth worker. I am thrilled that a Y11 student that I began to tutor in English Literature after he achieved a Grade 5 in his Y11 mock this year went on to achieve a Grade 9 in his English Literature GCSE. I am passionate about English, passionate about reading and I make it my mission to help every young person that I work with (in whatever capacity) to succeed.

Experience: I completed my teacher training through the highly regarded Teach First programme, qualifying in 2012 with a Distinction in my PGCE and Outstanding in my lesson observations. I taught in London for three years (including two years as KS3 Coordinator) before moving back home to the North West. I worked as an English Lead Practitioner and Whole School Literacy Coordinator for four years in a secondary school in Bolton.
