Information about Ali

I am a final-year medical student at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, where I also hold a Master’s in Cultural Psychology and Psychiatry from Queen Mary University of London. During my first year of medical school, I ranked in the top 10% of my cohort and achieved a distinction, which has given me a strong understanding of the academic demands of school and university studies.

I have over three years of experience tutoring GCSE and A-level students, including those with special educational needs such as autism. My teaching style is flexible, tailored, and student-focused - I adapt my approach to match each student’s learning style, helping them not only understand the material but also build confidence in their abilities.

I’m passionate about making sciences like Biology and Chemistry engaging and accessible, and I love seeing students gain clarity and achieve their academic goals.

Subjects Offered:
• Biology (GCSE and A-level)
• Chemistry (GCSE)
• Science (KS3)

Whether you’re aiming for top grades or just want to feel more confident in your studies, I will work with you every step of the way to make learning enjoyable and effective.

Availability: I’m available after 4 pm most weekdays, and I’m fully flexible on Wednesday and the weekend.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I have a strong understanding of the GCSE 9–1 specification, having been part of the first cohort to sit the reformed exams in 2018. I achieved grade 9s (equivalent to top A*s) in both Biology and Chemistry and have since helped numerous students achieve similar success.

Over the past two years, I’ve provided weekly online tuition to GCSE and A-level students, delivering lessons that are both curriculum-aligned and tailored to each student’s learning style.

I have also worked with a primary school-aged student with autism, tutoring in Maths, English, and Science. This experience taught me how to adapt lessons creatively, provide structured and patient support, and make learning engaging and accessible for students with SEND.

At medical school, I actively volunteer with the Peer Assisted Learning Society, tutoring students in the year below. I deliver flexible one-to-one sessions to help peers grasp complex concepts, build confidence, and improve academic performance.

These experiences have strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, adapt to diverse learning needs, and help students not only understand challenging topics but also excel in their studies.
