My name is Sarah and I have worked in education for over 15 years. I am a qualified English Language Teacher and a qualified Learning Mentor. I have a BA (Hons) Degree in Writing and Publishing and Media and Cultural Studies and a CELTA qualification, which allows me to teach English as a foreign language. I also have a Learning Mentor qualification, which allows me to improve and strengthen pupil`s emotional intelligence, so they can manage their emotions positively and interact effectively. As well as, support them on their academic journey, by empowering them to become autonomous and confident learners.

I teach pupils online and face-to-face.

Availability: I am available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings also at weekends.

Experience: I have a lot of experience in teaching English and Maths to KS1/KS2 and GCSE, to pupils with different learning abilities. Including, teaching pupils with Autism, ADHD and emotional behaviour disorders. All the pupils I have taught have achieved their expected grades and higher and some, have surpassed their academic goals.

I have tutored pupils for their SATs tests, where pupils have scored more than 100, achieving exceptionally high grades. Other pupils have obtained outstanding grade 8’s in their GCSE English Language exams. I also teach English courses to adult learners to help them improve their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. All the learners that I have taught have successfully passed the course and received a certificate.

I offer 1:1 tuition online and face –to face classes in English and maths, based on the National Curriculum for KS1-KS2 and GSCE English up to KS3. I implement different teaching strategies and learning styles to help pupils improve their learning. I also offer a specialised custom- made numeracy package, which focuses on the principles of numeracy, for pupils in KS2, who are struggling with maths.

I also offer 1:1 tuition online and face –to face classes in English and maths for pupils with Autism, ADHD in KS1-KS2. I use sensory activities and memory triggers to help pupils make progress. In addition, I offer the same type of tuition in the same subjects for pupils with emotional behaviour disorders in KS1-KS2. I use a number of different interventions to support pupil’s learning and I teach them about emotional intelligence, using games to help them develop their independence and interpersonal skills.

Finally, I offer adult learners online English courses to help them improve their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
