I am a highly experienced teacher, parent and resident in St Albans. I am an active, enthusiastic and patient person. I enjoy working with young people, especially to develop their approach to learning, academic understanding and curiosity. I am passionate about Science and enjoy developing engaging content that encourages students to raise questions and deepen their understanding.
Availability: Daytime sessions during school hours for A level Biology tuition.

Experience: Having worked in education for 14 years and having taught in Poland, Ghana and 4 vastly different co-education comprehensive schools, I have a wealth of experience, and currently work at Sandringham; an outstanding school. My students have always performed above the national average, exceeded their targets and have often gone on to study Science in further education. Having led a department through the previous government reforms and supporting a department with the most recent reforms, I am well aware of the strain students are under.
I have a strong belief that pedagogy is simple, and closely follow Barak Rosenshines principles of Instruction to develop fluency. I am adept at tailoring these principles to individual students, as the principles alone do not lead to exceptional results. I run sessions that assess students prior understanding, engage their curiosity, clearly explain principles, allow them to practise and then apply their learning. The application demonstrates success and raises confidence, which in my opinion is as important as the academic content, as it provides a positive feedback loop further increasing engagement.
Feedback from my sessions has been 100% positive and in all cases grades, confidence and fluency has improved. A record I am very proud of.
