I`m a recent graduate from the University of Oxford, where I studied Spanish and Arabic. Additionally, I am a CELTA qualified TEFL teacher. I have experience teaching English as a second language; I have spent a year in Spain teaching English to all ages, from primary to adult learners, and have taught in intensive summer courses in the U.K.

I have also studied the International Baccalaureate and so am knowledgeable about the UK exams (GCSEs, A-levels), IB exams and the Spanish bachillerato exams (selectividad).
I would be happy to tutor Spanish, whether it`s for an exam or for fun, English literature for exams (GCSE, A-level or IB) and English as a second language to those who need a higher level of English for work or school. I can teach English for fun or we can work towards exams - I have experience prepping students for Cambridge examinations and IELTS Speaking exams.

Working towards exams:
When tutoring for essay based subjects, it is crucial that the student prepares outside of the class in order to bring examples to the class so that we can review them.

A typical MFL lesson may start with us preparing an exam question together. We will do this by brainstorming key ideas and vocabulary and making a check-list of do`s and don`t`s. We can then use these ideas to review key grammar points and higher level phrases to include in the composition. Then, we would look at several model answers and mark them together so the student understands what level is expected of them in their response. At the end of the lesson, I would set the exam question for the student to complete before our next class in which we would mark it together and then repeat this class structure again with another question.

This class plan would be very similar with literature based subjects, but instead of reviewing grammar and vocabulary, we would review literary techniques and key ideas and themes within the studied texts.

Availability: I work shifts, so I cannot guarantee set dates and times. I am open to driving to student`s homes, having students in my home, meeting in cafes, or online classes.

Experience: As mentioned previously, I have experience teaching to a wide variety of ages, including adults. I am also CELTA qualified, meaning I have thorough knowledge of teaching techniques and practices. I have prepped students for Cambridge exams and IELTS speaking exams.
I also have recent experience with exams in the UK and IB exams.
