Information about Ryan
Hey! I`m a 4th year medical student at the University of Oxford. I have just completed my undergraduate course and achieved First Class Honours in Medical Sciences, specialising in Neuroscience. I have also conducted research in neonatal neuroscience and produced work exploring the potential for a cure for paediatric HIV.
I achieved 12A*s at GCSE, and A*A*A*A at A-Level (Biology / Chemistry / Maths / Spanish) as well as the Salter`s 1st Prize for A-Level Biology.
I`m an avid tennis player and competed at county level while at school. I also currently volunteer with a local charity in Oxford to organise fun days out for young people coming from a disadvantaged background, giving them access to opportunities they would not otherwise have while helping to improve their social skills and confidence.

____ My Approach ____
I`m highly enthusiastic about teaching, and strive to develop great results alongside passion for the subjects and issues that I discuss with my students (something that`s often very difficult in a classroom setting!) A personalised approach is key to this - we can either work through a syllabus to cover the core material or focus on topics that are notably complex or confusing.
Mastering exam technique is also paramount to boosting grades, so tackling example questions - applying knowledge and skills in different ways - is a central part of my sessions.
Please don`t hesitate to get in touch to organise a free meeting to explore what you`d want from the sessions and the best ways for me to help!
Availability: I`m available on weekday evenings, or anytime on weekends. I`m very flexible - let me know what time is best for you and I`ll do my best to accommodate your needs!
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: I tutored for numerous years while at school - mainly maths and biology - as a part-time job, as well as during school time for younger children struggling in the classroom. I have recently completed a teaching internship at Ringwood School, which allowed me to further advance my communication skills with various ability levels.
I`m currently a tutor of medicine at Worcester College, providing tutorials in Neuroscience. I have given private tutoring sessions for (Oxbridge) medicine applications as I have recent personal experience of the system and the hurdles that must be overcome to secure a place at university.
I`m also a qualified tennis coach, and taught tennis to children aged 4-12 for 3 years while at school.
