Katie

I am the Head of Science at Newfield School but I’m currently in maternity leave. We teach AQA GCSE Triple and Trilogy (Double Award) and I am very experienced in teaching these subjects. I enjoy working with young people and I’m missing that whilst I’m on maternity! I am friendly, happy and passionate about science.

Availability: I am available during week day evenings or weekend mornings.

Experience: I’ve been a teacher for over 8 years and I’m currently the Head of Science at Newfield. I have a team of 10 science teachers and we have recently received ‘Good’ from OFSTED, which involved a Deep Dive in science. I studied Biomedical Science at the University of Leeds, before receiving my PGCE from Sheffield Hallam. I am very experienced in teaching GCSE science, with my specialism lying in Biology. I have also been an GCSE exam marker for AQA, so I am very experienced in understanding what the examiner is looking for in students’ answers.
