Information about Hannah
As well as studying languages (French, Spanish and Italian) at Birmingham University I have spent time living and working in Paris and Barcelona, where I deepened my knowledge of the French and Spanish cultures and perfected my language skills.
In 2005 I gained Qualified Teacher Status having completed my PGCE in Secondary Modern Foreign Languages at the University of Bath. After qualifying I worked for a year in various Primary and Secondary Schools in the Wiltshire area before taking up a permanent post at Matravers School in Westbury where I taught French to A Level and Spanish to GCSE for five years and gained internal promotion to Second in Department and Lead Teacher for Spanish.
I take regular trips to both France and Spain in order to maintain my language skills and cultural knowledge and have recently completed a Masters in Technical and Specialised Translation at the University of Westminster (with distinction).
I regularly mark French GCSE writing papers for AQA (2012, 2013, 2014, 2016) and for Edexcel (2014, 2016). This gives me valuable insight into what exam boards look for when awarding top grades.
I am also a qualified teacher of English as a second languages and have worked in a number of prestigious English Language Schools, such as Kaplan and OISE in central London.
I am passionate about teaching languages and helping learners build their confidence and reach their language learning goals, whether it be for school, exam preparation, work or pleasure and aim to do so in a purposeful and structured yet also fun way.
During lessons I use a range of teaching methods to improve all skill areas of reading, listening, speaking and writing including games, online resources, worksheets, conversation practise and songs. My approach is to tailor my teaching methods and the programme of study to each individual`s needs and learning preferences.

Experience: I have five years experience of teaching French to AS and A2 Level and Spanish to GCSE in a good secondary school. I have been working as a private tutor since 2012 during which time I have principally tutored GCSE and A Level students, as well as some adult learners. I also work as an occasional supply teacher at various schools in the Barnet and Mill Hill area.
I qualified as a teacher of English as a second language in 2002 and have taught both adults and young learners from beginners to advanced in both one to one and class settings as well as in company.

First lesson held - arrived promptly, and provided a range of references/supporting documents. Good communication in arranging the lessons. Early days but so far so good.
