I am a playwright and author with an MA in Creative Writing from University of East Anglia, and an MSc in Playwriting from University of Edinburgh. I have extensive experience of tutoring A Level and GCSE students, as well as students taking Nationals and Highers.

I tutor English Language, Literature and Creative Writing. In English Language and Literature I work with students and parents to assess what areas they need to develop and improve in, as well as their existing strengths and interests. I then combine these to ensure that my tutoring focuses on the weaker areas, but also remains enjoyable and rewarding.

For Creative Writing, I tailor tuition around the needs and interests of students, looking at what they want to write and helping them develop and complete specific pieces, as well as introducing them to a wide range of creative writing techniques.

My first book [contact detail removed] was published in 2009 and has been a fixture in the best selling travel books on Amazon since the Kindle edition was published in 2012.

My plays include After We Danced, Casual Encounters, Are You Lonesome Tonight? A Bridge Game Too Far, Heart Shaped Box and Going For Gold. A Bridge Game Too Far won the 2011 Roy Purdue New Writing Trophy at The Orange Tree Theatre, Richmond. Casual Encounters and After We Danced enjoyed highly successful runs at Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Are You Lonesome Tonight? had its US premiere in 2014.

I also offer scri pt reading services including comprehensive critiques and recommendations of areas to focus on in further drafts.

Experience: I am a graduate of UEA`s Creative Writing Masters programme, and also have a Masters qualification on Playwriting from University of Edinburgh. I have provided private tuition in English Language, Literature and Creative Writing since 2013 at A level, GCSE and Key Stage 3, improving grades and performance of all my students to date. I have devised and run a range of beginners and intermediate Creative Writing courses at the Landmark Arts Centre, Teddington, and Kingston Arts Centre, and have also devised online tuition courses covering the building blocks of good writing.
