Information about Ginnie
Hello, I am a friendly, positive and passionate designer and sculpture technician from London, also engaging with arts education.
My relationship for the arts, has remained steadfast throughout my time in primary, secondary, further and higher education, and I have taken up places at three of the country`s leading art colleges; Camberwell College of Art, Wimbledon College of the Arts (University of the Arts London), and Royal College of Art, London.
I am looking to help with primary, secondary and further education, from coursework, sketchbook and portfolio preparation, to workshops of art skills and making techniques; these can include including improving ability with drawing and painting - materials and approach, clay modelling, model making, moulding, casting and ceramics.
I can offer guidance and lessons on art and design history, 20th Century art and design being my specialism, whist I can also deliver inspiring, creative and fun workshops on design approaches and influences.
I graduated from the postgraduate Ceramics and Glass MA at Royal College of Art in 2018, where I explored my interest in architectural ceramic design - a strand of work I have been developing to establish a part time design practice creating bespoke architectural ceramics for homes, gardens, and conservation projects.
I am currently showcasing my work, an interior architectural screen at Toad Gallery, Chelsea.
I have a professional background in the contemporary sculpture industry where I was employed as a sculptor, advanced mould-maker, technician and studio manager employing traditional and contemporary modelling, moulding and casting techniques and technologies. I am lucky to have been involved in many fantastic productions for leading contemporary artists including Yayoi Kusama, Sir Anthony Gormley, Mark Quinn, Mark Wallinger, Ryan Gander, and Annie Cattrell. I have valuable experience working as a designer / maker, installing large and small artworks, both public and private, beginning with my own undergraduate project, a life-size figurative sculpture of a homeless couple, which went on to a 6 month exhibit at Coventry Cathedral, and contributed towards a fundraising campaign raising £12,000 for charities supporting rough sleepers.
In 2019 I had an introduction to teaching at BA level being involved with several sessions with the UAL Central Saint Martins undergraduate Ceramic Design BA course, and I have assisted a ceramics workshop at the Victoria and Albert Museums weekend educational programme for young adults.
I can enthusiastically and confidently enrich creative practice and artistic education. If you are looking for support with a creative outlet, I would be happy to hear from you.
Availability: I am able to work around your requirements, just let me know what you are looking for.
